About our studio

The BeautyPhoto Studio is run by make-up artist Jayne Birchall and her photographer husband Chris.

You would normally expect to have to visit one of the country’s major cities to find the expertise and talent required to produce such beautiful photographs, yet the studio is located in the quiet historic market town of Ruthin.

Why is it then, that such specialized skills to be found at this small, rural, family-run photographic studio in the heart of the beautiful Vale of Clwyd?

Part of the answer can be found in a reply given by Chris in a interview with the local newspaper : “I would sooner be making a decent living in such a beautiful part of the country, than become a millionaire caught up in the rat-race of London”, he said. “In any case we are quite accessible, being just 35 minutes by road from Chester and 45 minutes from the M6 motorway.  Many of our customers travel for two hours or more to get to us”.

Boundless enthusiasm and energy, combined with years of experience undertaking editorial and fashion assignments for regional and national newspapers and women’s magazines, is what now makes this couple the region’s leading specialists.  Their portrait photography has won countless national and international awards, including the prestigious “Kodak UK Open Portrait Photographer of the Year”.

Jayne and Chris listen carefully to the way you want to look in your pictures.
